“Project Wolf Hunting” featuring actors Jang Dong-yoon and Seo In-guk will hit local theaters on Sept. 28, its distributor The Contents ON announced Wednesday.

The Contents ON unveiled a poster of the upcoming action thriller which takes places while criminals are being transported across the Pacific Ocean from the Philippines to Korea. The poster features “Frontier Titan,” the name of a moving jail sailing in the middle of a bloody sea.

The film is directed by Kim Hong-sun, who is behind “The Chase” (2017), “The Con Artists” (2014) and “Traffickers” (2012). Kim also wrote the screenplay for the film.

Both Seo and Jang play the role of criminals who are named on Interpol’s most-wanted list.

Seo debuted as a singer in 2009 after winning season one of Mnet’s audition show “Superstar K” (2009-16). Seo made his acting breakthrough with the tvN hit drama series “Reply 1997” (2012) as Yoon Yoon-jae.

As for Jang, his career started in an unusual way. In 2015, he was interviewed in a news segment as a university student who had caught an armed robber in a convenience store. His looks and courage quickly caught the attention of talent agencies, and he eventually made his debut through the web drama “Women at a Game Company” the following year. He is best known for his role in “The Tale of Nokdu” (2019). He starred in “Joseon Exorcist” (2021) as one of the leading characters, however, the drama faced a sudden suspension after two episodes following criticism regarding history distortion.

“It’s a hard-boiled survival action film that will present viewers the most intense adrenaline this summer,” the distributor said in a statement.

A preview of the movie will be released on Aug. 4.
