Girl group NewJean’s “Ditto,” a pre-released number from its upcoming EP, quickly topped domestic music charts.

“Ditto” dropped on Monday and is currently at No. 1 on Melon Chart, Bugs and Genie.

NewJeans saw sensational success with its EP of the same name in August, which sold over 311,000 copies in the first week after its release.

The girl group was one of the most anticipated K-pop launches of this year, being helmed by producer and creative director Min Hee-jin of ADOR, a subsidiary agency under K-pop powerhouse HYBE. Min was formally an art director at SM Entertainment and one of the forces behind Girls’ Generation, SHINee, Exo, f(x) and Red Velvet.

Songs “Attention” and “Hype boy” from NewJeans' debut EP became long-running megahits. “Hype boy” is still at No. 4 on the Melon Chart, four months after its release — a noteworthy feat in the fast-paced K-pop sphere.

“Ditto” is a reinterpretation of Baltimore club, a genre fusing hip-hop and house music which originated in the 1990s. Member Minji participated in writing the lyrics.

The music video for “Ditto,” which consists of two parts, is also going viral for its retro mood and storytelling.

NewJeans’ second EP “OMG” will drop on Jan. 2.
