Major K-pop agency JYP Entertainment will host a nationwide tour of open auditions to select trainees, according to the company on Monday.  
 
This is the K-pop powerhouse’s first in-person talent recruitment audition since 2020. The firm is behind star K-pop groups Wonder Girls, 2PM, Miss A, GOT7, DAY6, Twice, Stray Kids, ITZY, Xdinary Heroes and Nmixx.
 
Wooyoung of 2PM, Nayeon and Jeongyeon of Twice, Seungmin of Stray Kids and Jungsu of Xdinary Heroes were recruited through such open auditions.
 
JYP Entertainment will host auditions in six cities in Korea — Incheon at the Incheon Arts High School on Jan. 28, 2023; Gwangju at Samdi (Gwangju Youth Creative Hub) on Feb. 4, Daejeon at the Junggu Cultural Center on Feb. 5, Busan at the Suyeong District Youth Culture Center on Feb. 11, Daegu at the Namgu Youth Creation Center on Feb. 12 and Seoul at the Howon Art Hall between Jan. 17 and 19.
 
Those selected will be given opportunities to become trainees under JYP Entertainment.  
 
Anyone born between 2001 and 2012 can apply to audition at audition.jype.com from Monday. Applicants can choose one category among singing, rapping, dancing, modeling and acting.
