A dead copper shark was found washed up on the coast of Jeju.
 
The species is known to occasionally attack people.
 
According to the Seogwipo Coast Guard on Monday, a dead copper shark was discovered on the rocks near Jaguri Park in Seogwipo around 10: 55 a.m. Sunday morning.  
 
The shark was 1.26 meter long and roughly 52 centimeters wide.  
 
Copper sharks can grow up to three meters long. They often appear in the waters off the west and south coasts the country.
 
A fishing boat reportedly caught a copper shark in Jeju last month.
