Genesis unveiled the Genesis GV80 Coupe on Tuesday, the first-ever coupe-style SUV of the luxury brand under Hyundai Motor.
The GV80 Coupe stands out with its balanced design elements, featuring dynamic lines and a bold silhouette, which the automaker says resembles the “posture of an orca.”

The exterior design showcases parabolic contours, spanning the vehicle's body, and a gently descending roofline.

The rear of the vehicle includes a sporty bumper design with silver and black two-tone accents and a dual twin-muffler setup reminiscent of the crest grille shape.

Genesis also unveiled its GV80 face-lift model Tuesday, which has been partially revamped since it was introduced in 2020 as the brand's first SUV model.

The partially revamped GV80 retains the distinctive dynamic and sleek design of its precessedor while incorporating a spacious interior and improved mobility features, according to Hyundai on Tuesday.

On the exterior, the GV80 features a dual-mesh radiator grille at the front crest grille, accompanied by smoother corner lines. The well-known dual-line headlights have been enhanced with a Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology, contributing to the refreshed appearance.

“Today, by introducing the GV80 and GV80 Coupe to the Genesis lineup, we are marking an important milestone in the development of the Genesis brand,” said Genesis Chief Brand Officer Graeme Russell. “In a time where the definition of luxury is continually evolving, we believe that these vehicles will enable us to meet the dynamic and evolving needs of our customers.”

Genesis will host exhibitions for both the GV80 and GV80 Coupe, scheduled to take place from Oct. 14 to 22 at Genesis Suji, Gyeonggi, and from Oct. 4 to 13 at the Busan International Film Festival.

Sales will begin on Oct. 11 for both models.

Meanwhile, Genesis recorded over 1 million units in global cumulative sales. The brand has also outlined its future strategy, which involves introducing an all-new lineup of electric vehicles from 2025.
