Singer and actor Cha Eun-woo and singer Sung Si-kyung will host the upcoming 38th Golden Disc Awards, the ceremony's organizing committee said Thursday.
This is Sung's eighth time hosting the Golden Disc Awards and the first time for Cha. Cha won Best Performance as a member of his boy band Astro at the 34th Golden Disc Awards.
Now in its 38th edition, the annual Golden Disc Awards will be held on Jan. 6 at the Jakarta International Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia, which can house up to 80,000 audience members at once. Mandiri, the sponsor, is the largest commercial bank in Indonesia.
This is the fifth time the music awards ceremony to be held outside of Korea, following the 26th edition in Japan, the 27th in Malaysia, the 29th in China and the 37th in Thailand.
The Golden Disc Awards, hosted by JoongAng Group, began in 1986 and recognize and honor popular music that has garnered significant attention over the past year.
