Sequel to popular webtoon series 'Solo Leveling' to hit screens in August

A sequel to Kakao Entertainment's No. 1 webtoon "Solo Leveling" will release on Aug. 1, the webtoon company said Wednesday.

"Solo Leveling: Ragnarok" revolves around a new protagonist, Sung Su-ho, the son of the "Solo Leveling" hero Sung Jin-woo and heroine Cha Hae-in as he fights off an enemy in the absence of his father, who is off fighting battles to protect the Earth from monsters of other dimensions.

The new webtoon series will be posted on both the Kakao Page and Kakao Webtoon, according to the Kakao subsidiary.

"Solo Leveling" is Kakao Entertainment's most popular work, garnering 14.3 billion views around the world. It has been turned into an action video game and animation series. The web novel version of "Solo Leveling: Ragnarok" has also been viewed by 1 million readers, according to Kakao Entertainment.

"We have worked very hard to steal the hearts and eyes of readers," story adapter Dangdo and illustrator Jin said in a press release.

"We hope you enjoy the story of the growth of Sung Su-ho and other characters, as well as the eye-catching action scenes that become bigger with each episode."
