KBS launches ‘KBS Drama Classic’ streaming service on YouTube

KBS became the first of the three major local broadcasters to open up a YouTube membership service, called “KBS Drama Classic,” through which viewers will be able to access its drama series on demand.

The network will not only upload its latest drama series, but also some of its popular shows from that past that have never been available for streaming before, including “The Land” which aired in the late 1980s, “First Love” from the late 1990s, “Taejo Wang Geon” from the early 2000s and more. The series have all been digitally restored.

The service will cost 1,990 won ($1.70) a month for those who want to watch around 30 classic drama series from the ’80s, ’90s and ’00s. For 2,990 won a month, subscribers will be able to access 70 dramas.
