Blackpink became the first-ever million-selling K-pop girl group with its full-length album "The Album," its agency YG Entertainment announced on Monday.
"Blackpink sold more than 1.2 million copies of its album for the first time ever for any K-pop girl group," its agency said.
According to the agency, "The Album" has sold a total of 1,209,543 copies as of Monday.
Of that number, 871,355 were sold domestically and 319,300 internationally. The 18,888 copies of limited edition LP were also sold out.
This is the first time for any K-pop girl group to become a million-seller, even before the digital streaming era prior to the 2000s.
"Blackpink has made literally 'record-breaking' album sales and rewrote K-pop girl group history," the agency said.
"The Album" was released on Oct. 2 as the band's first full-length album in the four years since its debut in 2016.
It topped the iTunes Albums Chart in 57 regions immediately after its release, as well as landing at No. 2 on both Billboard's 200 albums chart and the British Official Charts.
"The Album" will sit at No. 10 on Billboard's chart set to be updated on Tuesday.
