Starship Entertainment on Tuesday released a statement that a member of its security team suddenly passed away while in the United States for boy band Monsta X's world tour.
"A security staff member who had traveled with us on the business trip to the United States has passed away," the agency said in its statement. "He was a diligent and passionate worker and we cannot hide our sadness at such an abrupt passing."
The agency asked that people refrain from making speculations and spreading personal information about the deceased and his family.
After dropping its 11th EP "Shape of Love" in April, Monsta X had embarked on a tour titled "2022 Monsta X No Limit US Tour" in the United States from May 21 to June 11. It had performed in cities including New York City, Detroit, Chicago and Los Angeles.
Monsta X debuted in 2015 with the EP "Trespass" (2015). The band was formed through Starship and Mnet’s music survival program “No.Mercy” (2014-15). Monsta X is known for songs like “Who Do U Love?” (2019), “Love Killa” (2020) and “You Problem” (2021).
