Former Highlight member Yong Jun-hyung set to release new music after hiatus

Yong Jun-hyung, a former member of boy band Highlight, announced that he will be returning to the K-pop scene after a four-year hiatus.

In March 2019, Yong was embroiled in a string of drug and sex crimes as part of the so-called Burning Sun scandal. Yong admitted to receiving and watching sexually explicit clips that were illegally taken. He denied filming or distributing the videos and pictures and was investigated by the police as a witness. Soon after, Yong left Highlight and has since been out of the public eye.

The exact date of Yong's new album release and information about the album is yet to be released.

Yong debuted in 2009 as members of Cube Entertainment’s six-member boy band B2ST, or Beast. After leaving Cube in 2016, five of B2ST’s six members re-debuted as Highlight in 2017 with its first EP “Can You Feel It?” Highlight is still active as a four member band with members Yoon Du-jun, Yang Yo-seop, Lee Gi-kwang and Son Dong-woon.

As a solo artist, he released one EP "Flower" (2013), and one full-length album, "Goodbye 20's" (2018). He also worked as an actor, starring in a supporting role in tvN drama "Monstar" in 2013 and a lead in Channel A's "Coffee, Do Me a Favor" in 2018.
