Blackpink's music video for "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du" (2018) surpassed 2 billion views on Wednesday morning, marking the first time for a K-pop girl group to achieve the feat.
According to YG Entertainment, the music video hit the 2-billion-view mark at 8:57 a.m. on Wednesday, four years and five months after the song's release.
"Ddu-du Ddu-du" is the lead track on the girl group’s first EP “Square Up” which consists of three other songs — “Forever Young,” “Really,” and “See U Later.”
It has been popular among global K-pop fans with its catchy hook and signature "gun-shooting" dance move. It peaked at No. 55 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart and No. 40 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
Blackpink recently finished its European leg of the "Born Pink World Tour" in the Netherlands and is set to start the Asian leg on Saturday with a concert in Bangkok, Thailand.
