It has established educational, career and financial programs

Mirae Asset Global Investments plays a key role in social contribution activities around the world.

It is establishing educational infrastructure as well as raising up competent individuals via its contributive moves beyond Korea.

It conducts various financial and career programs to foster talents in the economic field including global leaders’ long journey. The total number of participants of Mirae Asset subsidiaries’ programs reached more than 400,000 as of the end of March.

Mirae Asset has been steadily developing social contribution projects through Mirae Asset Park Hyeon Joo Foundation, which was founded in 2000. It has been centered on fostering human resources for more than 20 years. Mirae Asset Financial Group Chairman Park Hyeon-Joo has continued making donations for 13 consecutive years since 2010 to foster talents. He donated all the dividends from the group’s asset management. The dividends to be donated this year are 1.6 billion won ($1.2 million), while cumulative donations over the past 13 years totaled 29.8 billion won.

The donation will be used for social welfare projects as well as training programs by Mirae Asset Park Hyeon Joo Foundation and Mirae Asset Hope Foundation. Mirae Asset Park Hyeon Joo Foundation has been carrying out its projects with Park’s donation worth 7.5 billion won as the Global Strategy Officer (GSO) of Mirae Asset Group. The Mirae Asset Overseas Exchange Scholarship Program is one of the representative projects, which offers opportunities to college students to cultivate knowledge and experience international cultures. As of the end of March, about 6,500 students were nominated in 50 countries since 2007.

Mirae Asset Group is also taking the lead in social contribution activities for the community. It donated 500-million-won forest fire restoration in March 2022 as well as 500 million won for flood victims relief in August. Recently, Park donated 1 billion won to Meeting Square of Haeundae Arboretum as well.

As it is also active not only in Korea but also abroad, Mirae Asset Global Investments is pushing ahead with its contributive activities overseas, including Vietnam and India. Established in 2018, its foundation in India is carrying out a number of scholarship projects including supporting third-level education. It runs programs in cooperation with NGOs, offering educational opportunities to those who are socially disadvantaged.

“Mirae Asset has supported more than 400,000 talents via close communication and cooperation between Mirae Asset Park Hyeon Joo Foundation and the group’s subsidiaries,” a spokesman of Mirae Asset Group said. “We will continue our efforts toward social contribution activities.”
