Twice's Jihyo to debut as solo artist in August

Jihyo from girl group Twice will make her solo debut in August, her agency JYP Entertainment announced Friday.

A teaser revealed on Friday showed Jihyo applying her lipstick, reflected on the rear-view mirror of a vehicle. This is an extension of the teaser released Monday, where it only showed the hands of a mystery member holding onto the steering wheel of a car.

The teaser also featured the words “ZYO’s Zone 'Killin’ Me Good',” but it hasn’t been announced whether this is the title of her upcoming album.

Jihyo will be the second member from Twice to debut as a solo artist after Nayeon, who released her first EP in June last year.

Twice is currently holding its fifth world tour, “Ready to Be.” Kicking off with a two-day performance in Seoul on April 15 and 16, the girl group held two performances in Sydney, Melbourne, Osaka and Tokyo in May, and they will follow up with 11 concerts across eight U.S. cities and two performances in Toronto starting Saturday, continued by performances in Singapore, Britain, France, Germany, Thailand, the Philippines and more.

MiSaMo, Twice’s first subunit consisting of three Japanese members, Mina, Sana and Momo, will also debut in Japan on July 26.
