Seungkwan will resume his official activities and join boy band Seventeen’s October album release.
Seungkwan has been taking a break from official activities since July after his doctors advised him to take a break and focus on recovering his health.
“Seungkwan is planned to join Seventeen’s October comeback album,” Seventeen’s agency Pledis Entertainment told the Korea JoongAng Daily on Thursday.
“He is currently focusing on recovering his health, and we are discussing his return dates. We assume that Seungkwan can resume his official activities in September at the latest,” the agency added.
Seungkwan shared an update on Wednesday on Weverse, the boy band’s official fan platform.
“How have you guys been, Carats? It’s been a while,” he said. Carat is Seventeen’s fandom name.
“I am doing well, taking a rest and recovering. I think this is the first time I properly experienced taking a proper rest.”
“I have the feeling that I will be able to meet you guys again in the near future,” Seungkwan wrote.
Seventeen plans to kick off the Japanese leg of its “Follow” concert tour series in five Japanese cities starting September. Seungkwan was not able to join the boy band’s “Follow” concert tour held in Seoul on July 21 and 22.
