HyunA signs new contract with agency AT AREA

Singer HyunA signed an exclusive contract with agency AT AREA.

“We will support HyunA in expanding her musical spectrum while she tries new music and performances," the agency said Monday.

The agency was established in 2021 by music production duo GroovyRoom and is currently home to singers Gemini, Mirani, Blasé and HyunA's ex-boyfriend, Dawn.

HyunA has not been with an agency ever since she left P Nation, founded by singer Psy, on Aug. 29, 2022.

The recent news came as a surprise to the industry as HyunA and Dawn had broken up after a 6-year relationship in November last year. But the latest move does not mean that they are back as a couple, the agency said.

“Dawn was not the reason she signed with us,” the agency told the local press. “We would like to add that HyunA coming to our company does not mean that the two are back together.”

HyunA debuted as a member of girl group Wonder Girls in 2007, but she left the group the same year. She debuted again in 2009 as a member of girl group 4Minute. She launched her solo career in 2010 with hit songs like “Bubble Pop” (2011), “Ice Cream” (2012) and “Lip & Hip” (2017).
