The agency uploaded an official post on Tuesday evening through its fan community app Weverse to announce that the “Map of the Soul Tour” will be put on hold due to the coronavirus.
“We have decided to reschedule all plans for BTS’s world tour concert,” the agency said.
The agency explained that due to the nature of a world tour, which involves hundreds of workers and fans, it cannot go forward even if the outbreak has subsided in some regions.
“This decision has been made with the health of all fans as our utmost priority,” the agency said.
“We promise to make sure that you will get to meet with BTS at soon as possible.”
BTS was set to embark on its tour with four concerts in Seoul this month, then travel to North America, Japan, Britain, Germany and Spain.
The band released its full-length album “Map of the Soul: 7” in February.
