BTS’s EP 'Butter' tops Oricon's weekly album chart
BTS’s EP “Butter” featuring “Permission to Dance,” its third English-lyric song which topped the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, took the No. 1 spot on Japan’s Oricon weekly album chart, said Oricon on Tuesday.
Released on July 9, the EP which consists of BTS’s hits “Butter” and “Permission to Dance” sold 195,000 copies between July 12 and 18. This is BTS’s ninth album to top the Japanese chart so far, and also the fifth consecutive album to do so.
BTS now has the most No. 1 albums in Oricon’s history for a non-Japanese artist. Before “Butter,” the band was tied for the record with boy band TVXQ.
