BTS's Jungkook, Blackpink, Tomorrow X Together, Stray Kids win awards at VMAs

A star-studded lineup of K-pop acts went home as winners during the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Tuesday at the Prudential Center in New Jersey.
Girl group Blackpink won two awards: Group of the Year and Best Choreography for "Pink Venom" (2022).
Fifty Fifty, FLO, Jonas Brothers, Måneskin, NewJeans, Seventeen and Tomorrow X Together were nominated for Group of the Year.
For four years straight until last year, BTS was the recipient of that award.
The boy band's member Jungkook, who made his official solo debut with the single "Seven" earlier this year, won Song of the Summer. He competed against a wide range of other hit songs, including Olivia Rodrigo's "Vampire," SZA's "Kill Bill," Dua Lipa's "Dance the Night," Fifty Fifty's "Cupid" and Troye Sivan's "Rush."
Jungkook is the first Korean solo artist to win the award.
Boy bands Tomorrow X Together was named the winner for Push Performance of the Year with "Sugar Rush Ride," while Stray Kids for Best K-pop with "S-Class."
In the Best K-pop category, the other nominees were aespa's "Girls," Blackpink's "Pink Venom," Fifty Fifty's "Cupid," Seventeen's "Super" and Tomorrow X Together's "Sugar Rush Ride."
Tomorrow X Together and Stray Kids were present to receive their awards, and each gave a performance of their songs. Blackpink and Jungkook did not attend the event.
