BTS tops Oricon chart for third straight week with Japanese compilation album

BTS’s Japanese compilation album “BTS, THE BEST” topped Japan's Oricon weekly album chart for the third week in a row, Big Hit Music announced on Tuesday.
 
BTS is the first artist to top the chart for three consecutive weeks this year.  
 
“BTS, THE BEST” is a compilation of the K-pop phenomenon’s greatest hits. It was released on June 16 exclusively in Japan. The album includes Japanese versions of the boy band’s hits as well as BTS’s Japanese-language songs.
 
According to Big Hit Music, 27,000 copies of “BTS, THE BEST” were sold between June 28 and July 4, making it the highest-selling album of that week by Oricon’s tally. The album has sold an accumulate of 885,000 copies so far.  
 
“BTS, THE BEST” also had the highest first-week sales for an album released in Japan this year according to Oricon, selling 782,000 copies.
